For the 2018 model year, the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 gets some updates. Owners will find more standard features, new color options, and a few exterior styling changes.
Power & Performance
There are three engines for customers to choose from. The base engine is a 4.3-liter V6 rated at 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque. Next up is a 5.3-liter V8 with 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. Finally, at the top of the range is a 6.2-liter V8 that delivers 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. When properly equipped, the Silverado 1500 can tow up to 12,500 pounds.
This year, there are two new exterior color options: Cajun Red Tintcoat and Havana Metallic. In addition, there is new styling for the Z71 and 4x4 decals on the side of the box.
Inside, there are a lot of new standard features. These include a six-speaker sound system, a 7-inch color touchscreen, Chevrolet MyLink, Bluetooth streaming audio, a Rear Vision Camera, and the addition of Tire Fill Alert to the Tire Pressure Monitoring System.
The Silverado 1500 Custom Convenience Package now includes OnStar, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, and a remote locking tailgate.
