The 2022 Chevrolet Equinox arrives this year with a host of updates. Most notably, it adds the new sporty RS trim to its lineup along with expanded availability of safety features. You can experience all that the Equinox has to offer with a test drive at El Dorado Chevrolet today.
There are four trim levels available: LS, LT, RS, and Premier.
Performance and Efficiency
All Equinox models come equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 170 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque. This is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive on most trim levels. All-wheel drive is available as an option.
When equipped with front-wheel drive, the Equinox returns an EPA-estimated 26 mpg city and 31 mpg highway.[1]
The Equinox can also do some towing. With the right equipment, it can handle up to 1,500 pounds.
RS Trim
The latest addition to the Equinox lineup is the RS trim. This model gives the Equinox a sporty look with black exterior trim details including 19-inch Dark Android-painted aluminum wheels, a black bowtie emblem, Gloss Black side rails, and a Gloss Black window surround. This is complemented by a unique lower fascia design with body-color inserts.
Inside, the RS comes with Jet Black seating in either cloth or leather with red accent stitching. Black Ice chrome accents and a Black headliner complete the package.
Interior Space and Features
The Equinox is a family-friendly SUV that will keep everyone riding in comfort. It has plenty of space for up to five passengers in addition to cargo options throughout the cabin. Behind the second row, the Equinox comes with 29.9 cubic feet of cargo space. With the rear seats folded, this grows to 63.9 cubic feet. Choose the available power liftgate to make loading cargo even easier.
For a premium driving experience, the Equinox is available with a variety of upscale options. Features like heated seats in both rows, leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and ambient interior lighting add a luxurious feel to the cabin. There is even an available panoramic sunroof that gives everyone a fantastic view of the sky.
Technology
