How Does the Silverado EV Work?

The Silverado EV comes with a 24-module battery pack, giving you around 400 miles of estimated range. In addition to this fantastic battery pack, there are two electric motors, one placed at the front and the other in the back, which help the Silverado EV create around 664 horsepower and 780 lb-ft of torque with the RST and 510 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque with the WT, which are both excellent for the class. When it comes to charging the Silverado EV, it has a fast charge capability of 35kW with a DC Fast Charger, which will give you 100 miles of range in only 10 minutes. Both versions of the Silverado EV come with ten outlets, and the Silverado EV can export up to 10.2kW of power which is enough to charge just about any other EV.

When you take a seat inside the cabin of the Silverado EV, you will be immediately impressed with the all-black and business-like interior. There is an 11-inch center touchscreen in the middle of the console for the WT and a 17-inch touchscreen if you go with the RST. As for the driver’s display, it’s at 7 inches for the WT and 8 inches for the RST. Again, if you go with the WT, you will be treated to a gorgeous-looking all-glass roof, but if you prefer something a little more robust, then the RST comes with a durable metal roof.

If there is one thing that the Silverado is known for, it’s towing and hauling, and the Silverado EV is no exception. Every version of the Silverado EV comes with a tow/haul mode, hitch provisions, and an integrated trailer brake controller. You will also find that hitch guidance will be located on the main screen. When fully equipped, the Silverado EV can haul up to 20,000 pounds. If you go with the Silverado EV WT, it will come with a 5-foot, 11-inch bed, and while the RST has the same bed, it throws in a Multi-Flex midgate option. The payload capacity of the WT version is 1,100 pounds, while the RST has a payload capacity of 1,200 pounds. Each version also comes with an eTruck which adds additional storage space for your items.

Both the WT and the RST versions of the Silverado EV will come with spectacular features that will rival anything else you will find on the market. The RST version has an air suspension system, while the WT has a non-adjustable steel spring setup. The wheels for the WT are 18-inch steel wheels, while the RST comes standard with massive 24-inch wheels. Both versions come standard with LED headlamps and taillamps, while the RST version comes with animations and change indicators. Finally, the eTrunk on both versions of the Silverado EV will be opened manually, which should please all hard-working blue-collar individuals.
