Chevy Youth Baseball Program Helps Kids Get Into Sports
The Chevy Youth Sports program was started in 2006 with Chevy Youth Baseball, and since then it’s helped millions of kids in the U.S. play on a sports team by donating time, money, and resources to local baseball and soccer teams.
Chevy Youth Baseball alone has provided over 1,800 free clinics, donated 149,000 kits and helped with over 15,000 enhancements to local little leagues, thanks to individual Chevy dealerships creating partnerships with parents and leagues in the community, as well as donating funds and manpower.
Participating in team sports helps kids direct their energy, learn teamwork, and be more active, and it’s especially important to have programs like this during the summer, when school is out and kids have less social interaction and structured exercise.
Over 150 summer baseball clinics, many taught by professional players, were held in 2018 alone, and 42 out of 50 states had at least one league participating in Chevy Youth Baseball. These clinics involve learning hitting, pitching, and other baseball fundamentals over a half-day session.
For summer 2019, clinics have been going on since March and will continue through mid-August, and signups are first-come first-serve. So, if you’re interested in signing your child up for one, check the clinic schedule to see if a clinic is being offered near you and when, and get signed up.
El Dorado Chevrolet is proud of this incredible program and we wish every player good luck this summer!
