First 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible Raises $1 Million

At this year’s Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach Auction, Chevrolet had an ace up its sleeve. The first retail production 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 went up on the block with all proceeds promised to the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. When the final gavel fell, it raised a hefty $1 million.

In January, Chevrolet auctioned off the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 70th Anniversary Edition for an impressive $3.6 million, which brings the total money raised at auction by the 2023 Corvette Z06 to $4.6 million.

Rick Hendrick, chairman and CEO of Hendrick Automotive Group, placed the winning $1 million bid for the first retail Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible. 100% of his bid will support the TMCF’s Teacher Quality & Retention Program. This program helps train aspiring teachers and helps them overcome difficult moments in challenging teaching environments.

“General Motors and Chevrolet are honored to support the Thurgood Marshall College Fund on its mission to empower students and educators for success,” said Scott Bell, Chevrolet global vice president. “The proceeds from this sale of the first retail production Corvette Z06 convertible will support high-caliber training for future educators studying at HBCUs and PBIs across the nation.”

Hendrick will be able to customize this first production model including choosing the exterior body color and the color of the brake calipers. It will come equipped with a 670-horsepower V8 engine that delivers an estimated 0-60 mph time of just 2.6 seconds.
